Where is the Nine Arch Bridge located?

The Nine Arch Bridge sits in Demodara about 2.5 kilometres beyond the mountain town of Ella in Sri Lanka’s central highlands. It crosses a lush, green valley that sits between the Ella railway station and the Demodara railway station, kind of quietly, really.

You can reach it fairly easily by taking a brief walk through the jungle or by jumping on a quick tuk-tuk from the centre of Ella. The location, tucked among dense tea plantations and steep slopes, makes it one of the most photogenic railway crossings across all of Asia.
