What makes the Sri Indaka Saman Sathbudu Maha Seya in Kubalwela unique?

The Sri Indaka Saman Sathbudu Maha Seya is visually unique because it has this brilliant white dome, sitting against a dramatic high-altitude mountain background, and can be seen from miles away.

Unlike standard village stupas, this particular monument was meticulously built to keep sacred relics inside, along with dedicated places of reverence for the seven Buddhas of antiquity (Sathbudu).
