What is the "Hulan Guhawa" entrance at Nil Diya Pokuna?

“Hulan Guhawa” means “Wind Cave” in Sinhala, and it is the more demanding alternative route into the Nil Diya Pokuna underground system. You can notice a clear, forceful updraft of air coming out of a narrow rock gap, and it feels quite direct.

Some visitors choose the usual Methgama entrance, yet the bolder explorers often go for Hulan Guhawa because entering involves a thrilling, tight squeeze. That brisk airflow at the opening comes from natural pressure differences between the big underground chambers and the surrounding surface atmosphere.
