What continent is Sri Lanka on?
Sri Lanka is in Asia, um, in the continental sense. More specifically, it sits in the South Asian area, and it is placed in the Indian Ocean, just south-east of the Indian subcontinent, you know.
Because it is an island state, it does not really have land neighbours with any other country, though it is split from India by the narrow Palk Strait. In terms of geography and customs, it is very much woven into the South Asian population's life, and it also acts as a founding member of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
