Is the Peradeniya Botanical Garden accessible for wheelchairs and baby strollers?
The Peradeniya Botanical Garden is pretty accessible for wheelchairs as well as baby strollers, and there is an extensive network of wide, smooth asphalt roads that feel easy on the wheels.
Because the central lawns have generally flat ground, people with limited mobility can comfortably look toward the famous Palm Avenues, the massive Javan Fig tree, plus the vibrant flower gardens. Now, a couple of the slimmer secondary trails close to the riverbank can be a bit tricky to manage, since they are unpaved, but in general, most of the park’s key sights are fully barrier-free.
