Is Nil Diya Pokuna currently open to the public?

Nil Diya Pokuna is generally open to visitors year-round, but entry is controlled mostly by local village guides, not by any central governing body. You usually will not find official opening hours, nor any government ticketing offices that manage the place.

Since it runs in an informal way, access can sometimes be limited during extreme monsoon rain periods, when the cave fills with water and becomes extremely hazardous. It is best to coordinate with a guide from the nearby Karandagolla village a day ahead, just to verify what is currently possible to do.
