How do local agencies handle LKR exchange rate changes?

Some Sri Lankan agencies bypass the annoying local exchange rate volatility by quoting and invoicing every tour package in steadier international currencies, mainly USD, EUR, or GBP.

Since the Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR) can swing quite a lot, using foreign currency pricing keeps both the traveller and the agency away from sudden financial turbulence. In practice, your final invoice stays locked in the currency you agreed on at the start. If you decide to settle the remaining balance in cash when you arrive using LKR, the agency will figure out the amount using the Central Bank of Sri Lanka’s official daily buying rate for that particular day.
