Do local operators book international flights to Colombo?
Most local Sri Lankan tour operators stick mostly to ground handling, and they generally don’t book international flights into Bandaranaike International Airport. As a traveller, you’re supposed to arrange your own inbound and outbound airfare on your side first, before you lock in the local tour dates.
If you manage your own international flights, you retain control over your airline miles, your preferred seat selection, and the cancellation rules. After you share your confirmed flight manifest with the local agency, they take over the operational logistics starting when you reach the arrivals hall in Colombo.
