Do I need to pay for the driver’s food and lodging?
When you book a standard package via a trustworthy agency, the driver's accommodation and meals are already part of your total quote. You are not required to cover their everyday living costs along the route; in other words, it's handled on their side.
Most tourist hotels offer dedicated “driver quarters” with meals included, free of charge. In distant places where this setup isn’t available, the agency gives the driver a daily allowance, known as batta, so they can arrange their own food and sleeping places nearby.
