Can operators guarantee Yala safari entry during peak season?

Tour operators can promise your jeep rental, and also arrange your park entry tickets, but they cannot promise you will slip past the huge crowds inside Yala National Park during the peak season. There are strict daily vehicle caps, so your agency has to lock in your safari booking far ahead.

In the peak months, December through February, the park gets heavily jammed with traffic around the places where leopards are seen. To secure a more focused wildlife encounter, experienced operators usually advise going to calmer alternatives, such as Wilpattu National Park or Kumana National Park. These areas tend to show comparable biodiversity without the same intense crowding.
